WHS Plans for - Working at Queensland Training Campuses

Safety is paramount at all Queensland Government -owned training facilities.

TAFE Queensland Campuses

Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Management Plans are available for each TAFE Queensland campus. The Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET) updates these plans regularly to ensure they remain current.

Before commencing work at any TAFE Queensland site, contractors and their workers must ensure they review the current WHS Management Plans and consider how this information applies to their own safe systems of work.

WHS Management Plans are broken down into two parts;

Part 1 of the TAFE Queensland WHS Management Plans contains general WHS material and information regarding common hazards known to DTET and is applicable to all campuses.

Part 2 of the WHS Management Plans provides campus-specific information including emergency contact details, campus layout and access requirements, information about known hazards at the campus as well as emergency evacuation details. The WHS Management Plans are available onsite from the TAFE Queensland facilities representative, and online via links below. Contractors and workers should consult the facilities representative if they require further campus-specific WHS information.

Non-TAFE Queensland campuses

A number of Queensland Government-owned training campuses are not occupied by TAFE Queensland. WHS Management Plans are also available for these sites (Maryborough, Maroochydore and North Lakes) via links below. Contractors should email trainingassets@desbt.qld.gov.au for further information.

Safe Work Permits are required for some works, including hazardous works, hot work, roof-top access and working at heights as well as any cutting, coring or excavation works. Please email trainingassets@desbt.qld.gov.au with applications and enquiries. Note that at least 72 hours’ notice is required to obtain a Safe Work Permit.

Thank you for your assistance in providing a safe workplace.
