Soil survey of the lower Burdekin River, Baratta Creek-Haughton River Area, North Queensland - BRL

This publication set is a soil survey of the lower Burdekin River, Baratta Creek-Haughton River area, North Queensland. The study area covers part of the Ayr (8358) 1:100,000 map sheet. Approximately 80,000 hectares of land were mapped at 1:100,000 scale, and 3,740 hectare reference area, the Burdekin Rural Education Centre, was also surveyed at 1:25,000 scale. Land suitability for a range of crops was evaluated. Approximately 640 sites were assessed using the free survey method and 53 soil profile classes were identified.
