Land tenure records
Research Guide to land tenure records at Queensland State Archives.
There are three main categories of land tenure: freehold (under Old Land system and Torrens system), leasehold (pastoral runs and freeholding selection leases) and reserves (when the State sets aside a block of land to be administered for a specific purpose).
The main series of land records held at QSA are pastoral leases, occupation licenses, land selections, special leases, and freehold title and freehold tenure.
