Executive Council minutes

Research Guide to Executive Council minute records at Queensland State Archives. Matters covered by the minutes in the earliest years include public service appointments, departmental administrative arrangements and changes to departmental structures, quarantine of immigrant ships, schedules of runs, terms and conditions of land leases, mining leases, public works expenditure, patents, tenders and contracts (tender acceptance), sentences of prisoners, establishment of state schools, local authority boundaries, reserves, and matters relevant to the Acts. The Executive Council records also include matters considered by Cabinet which require formal approval and signature by the Governor, such as, Commissions, Proclamations, Orders in Council, regulations, appointments of Judges and Magistrates.
