Records include Miners Homestead Lease files for Crown land leased on mineral fields. Lease files may contain the application for the lease, description of the land, the decision of the Minister for various transactions e.g. transfer of lease, application for subdivision, reports on applications, maps, survey plans, sketch maps, details of mortgage, lease documents, etc. Leases were withdrawn, rejected, surrendered, forfeited, resumed or cancelled. As well as Miner's Homestead Perpetual Lease, Miner's Homestead Lease and Mining Titles Freeholding Lease documents, some Certificates of Registration of Transfers under the Mining Acts are included. Other records include registers created by Mining Wardens for Applications to Lease Crown Land.
