Company records
Research Guide to company records at Queensland State Archives. Queensland State Archives holds records of the registration of companies between 1863 and 1959. These records are for companies which are no longer in existence. The Companies Act 1863 provided for the registration of all large companies, associations or partnerships formed to carry on a business for ‘acquisition of gain’. Incorporation of the company took place upon registration of the memorandum and articles of association signed by at least seven proposed members of the company.
