Post Harvest Commodity Management

Australia is known for having among the highest standards in the world for pulse exports. However, maintaining high quality—and therefore optimum prices—is heavily dependent on how pulses are stored. One of the constraints of maximising the quality and value of our pulse production has been the limited knowledge about storing them after harvest. This Best Management Practices guide presents Queensland’s pulse industry research-based advice for optimising post-harvest storage, including detailed recommendations for hygiene, aeration and fumigation.
