Chapter 5.1 – Issuing summonses

Issued under the Justices Act 1886, a summons commands a person to attend a court at a prescribed time and place as set out in the form. Why a summons is issued and when to served it are described in this chapter of the Duties of Justices of the Peace (Qualified) handbook.
