Parent Secondary Victim - Financial Assistance Application Form - Victim Assist Queensland

This form is for a parent secondary victim of an act of violence against their child that happened in Queensland.

Under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009 a parent secondary victim must meet the following circumstances:

You (the child’s parent or primary carer) have been injured psychologically or emotionally because your child or a child in your care (under 18) was injured physically, psychologically, or emotionally by an act of violence — which may include, but is not limited to, any form of assault, a sexual offence, child abuse, domestic/family violence and a range of other personal offences.

Your child may also be eligible for financial assistance for their recovery needs and other relevant expenses. You need to complete the Primary Victim - Financial Assistance Application Form on behalf of your child.
